HIGH NET/BUSINESS DIVORCE

The main objectives in most high-asset divorce cases are asset protection/distribution and continued cash flow. Each party wants to maintain a lifestyle as close as possible to that which he or she enjoyed during the marriage. This goal can cause a great deal of friction and animosity between the parties.

As in the majority of divorce cases, high net worth cases involve division of property and debt. However, the process can be significantly more complex for substantial marital estates, and the process can become more entangled if the income/asset source is a business. Working with accountants, business valuation specialists, tax professionals and other reliable experts, we seek fair property settlements that take all assets and obligations into account, including:

  • High income child support and spousal support issues
  • Division of pensions, IRAs, brokerage accounts and other retirement assets
  • Valuation of business assets and professional practices
  • Enforcing or challenging a prenuptial agreement

You have worked hard to acquire your assets and income. Let us help you protect them through the divorce process.

CONTENTIOUS CUSTODY/PLACEMENT

If you are fighting for custody of your child, and the other parent is a high conflict individual, you know the pain and frustration that is likely to occur during litigation.  With a careful and proactive approach to your custody case, things can get better – for you and your child.

Core conflicts in custody matters may have to do with complicated issues such as:

  • Allegations of parental alienation
  • Family violence
  • Drug and alcohol abuse or addiction
  • Mental illnesses
  • Personality disorders
  • Unsafe conditions in the home of either parent
  • The geographical distance between parents (relocation)
  • Stated child preferences in conflict with the status quo
  • Grandparent and extended family involvement
  • Military divorce, perhaps including periods of overseas deployment
  • Frequently shifting job schedules of one or both parents

Regardless of the particulars of your child custody case, we leverage our extensive experience as well as our relationships with third-party professionals (mental health providers, FCS/social workers, guardian ad items) to advocate zealously for you and your child's best interests.
